This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.
We're seeking a Data Engineer to join our software development team and own the complete data journey of our products. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing data solutions across our entire ecosystem - from building sophisticated integrations that bring critical data into our applications, to developing robust pipelines that deliver our product data to downstream consumers.
Beyond the technical implementation, you'll serve as the bridge between our product's data and the broader data ecosystem. You'll develop deep expertise in our data domain, partnering with business stakeholders to enable data-driven decisions through both ad-hoc analysis and self-service dashboards. Working closely with software engineers and business teams, you'll ensure high-quality, reliable data flows throughout the entire lifecycle.

Key job responsibilities
Design and implement integrations with external data sources and systems
Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines that ensure reliable, scalable data intake
Collaborate with external teams to understand their data models and establish efficient integration patterns
Monitor and optimize performance of data ingestion processes
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data export pipelines using AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda)
Build relationships with downstream data warehouse teams and data consumers to understand their needs and requirements
Ensure data quality and consistency across all exported datasets
Implement monitoring and alerting for data pipeline health and performance
Develop deep understanding of our product's data domain and business context
Support business stakeholders with ad-hoc data analysis and investigations
Design and build self-service dashboards and reports using visualization tools
Provide guidance to stakeholders on data availability, structure, and best practices for data consumption
Participate in code reviews and contribute to team's technical standards
Continuously improve data infrastructure and processes for scalability and efficiency
Work closely with software engineers to ensure data solutions align with product architecture
Review our product internal data access patterns and work with engineering team on improvements (e.g. adding indexes)
About the team
We develop tooling, best practices, and automations for AWS' GTM. Our portfolio of tools includes GTM orchestration, GTM content development, the Solutions Library (https://aws.amazon.com/solutions), and more.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of data engineering experience
Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., TypeScript, Python)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
