Our client is seeking an experienced Data Engineer for a contracted project through the end of the year. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years experience in Data Engineering and able to start a contracted project:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, build, test & maintain scalable data pipelines and data management systems
Ensure system performance, reliability, and data quality per company guidelines and industry practices
Integrate up-and-coming data management and software engineering technologies into existing data structures.
Collaborate across Data Science, Engineering, and Business teams
Optimize data access and implement disaster recovery steps
Recommend improvements for performance, structure, and reporting
Develop set processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production.
Recommend different ways to constantly improve data reliability and quality.
Install/update disaster recovery procedures.
Collaborate with members of your team (eg, data architects, the IT team, data scientists) on the project's goals.
Employ an array of technological languages and tools to connect systems together.
Research new uses for existing data.
Create custom software components and analytics applications.
Handle and report from, large complex datasets in collaboration with domain experts
Build, deploy and manage big data solutions that can adequately handle the needs of a rapidly growing data driven company
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5-10 years of experience in Data Engineering or BI/Analytics Engineering
Must be advanced with strong hands-on experience with SQL, Snowflake and DBT
Agile work environment experience
Extensive background extracting and transforming complex data sets
Non-relational database experience: NoSQL, MongoDB, Hadoop, etc
MUST HAVES: Must be LOCAL in the Cincinnati, OH area as the role reports in daily M-F client location
NICE TO HAVE: Financial data background (loans, regulatory reporting)
