ROLE SUMMARY: A customer-facing, technically competent Customer Success Manager is needed to serve as the primary commercial and technical lead for assigned accounts and growth opportunities. This role blends account management, quoting, project execution, and applications engineering into one position The Customer Success Manager owns the customer relationship from opportunity development through quote, order, engineering coordination, delivery, and follow-through while helping grow profitable, long-term customer partnerships
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: Own day-to-day relationships for one key customer account and act as the primary point of contact from quote through delivery and post-delivery follow-up Lead customer communications, project updates, technical clarification, issue resolution, presentations, plant tours, and account reviews Review customer requirements, drawings, specifications, and design changes to determine technical feasibility, manufacturing impact, and execution needs Prepare and revise quotations based on technical scope, materials, labor content, lead times, and manufacturing considerations Coordinate with engineering, production, purchasing, planning, quality, and suppliers to drive projects through execution and completion Manage project plans, milestones, action items, risks, and status communication with urgency and precision Support pricing strategy, commercial negotiations, margin protection, proposal development, and customer documentation requirements Identify follow-on work, account expansion opportunities, and new customer needs through active listening and strong partnership Maintain organized records of drawings, customer requirements, quotes, project updates, and related commercial and technical documentation Recommend process, product, or service improvements that strengthen responsiveness, scalability, and customer experience
KEY QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered At least 3+ years of experience in a technical manufacturing environment such as aerospace, defense, machining, industrial, or electromechanical components Experience in applications engineering, project engineering, technical sales, account management, or a similar hybrid customer-facing technical role Demonstrated ability to interact directly with customers to gather requirements, explain technical concepts, and manage expectations Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities, stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables Basic proficiency in CAD, GD&T, and print reading Strong communication, organization, follow-through, and sound business judgment Comfort working in Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP-adjacent environments. Preferred Background: Experience with motion control, motors, electromechanical assemblies, or precision manufacturing Familiarity with aerospace, defense, or other highly specified manufacturing environments Experience managing technically complex customer programs or key accounts Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with direct exposure to executive leadership
