UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Criticality Engineer opportunity for our customer in Richland, WA to support the Hanford .
DESCRIPTION OF WORK - GENERAL Contractor employee(s) shall be responsible for independently planning, organizing, and performing a wide variety of non-hazardous specialized administrative/technical duties in support of the successful completion of goals and deliverables and in accordance with all provisions of the Contract.
The Candidate shall support the clients senior Criticality Safety Support. This scope will include the generation of Criticality Safety documentation, criticality safety support to Operations, and will include interface with permanent staff as well as subcontract staff preparing criticality safety deliverables.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK - SPECIFIC The work scope for this activity includes the resources, material and/or equipment necessary to accomplish the following Buyer activities: The Contractor shall support criticality safety management and oversight activities associated with criticality safety programs. Criticality Safety-related assessments and/or walk-throughs Training and mentoring of criticality safety staff and operations staff on criticality safety policies and programs Nuclear criticality safety-related DOE orders and regulations compliance support, including implementation of related guidance Support performance of routine and ad-hoc reviews, assessments, and oversight walk-downs of criticality safety program adequacy, implementation, and compliance verification/oversight activities. Mentoring/training criticality safety staff as directed by management
REQUIREMENTS Must be a US Citizen Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Art degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or a related technical field. Buyer accepts an education equivalency of two (2) years of experience for one (1) year of education. Minimum of 15 years in the nuclear safety industry, of which at least eight (8) years must be directly related to the required area of expertise as a criticality safety engineer as defined under 10 CFR 830. Must have related experience in performing all of the tasks outlined in Description of Work - Specific listed above. This can be demonstrated by a combination of education and experience.
