Summary:

The Corrosion Engineer reports to the Sr. Manager of Corrosion Services. This position involves diverse involvement in all corrosion control related aspects of the company's business. This position requires travel to field locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


The following reflect common duties performed by the Corrosion Engineer:


Requirements:

•BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Petroleum engineering with 3-6 years' experience in corrosion prevention and control programs for hazardous liquid and/or gas transmission and plant assets.

•NACE CP 2, NACE Corrosion Technologist, or higher certification preferred.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

The position requires a candidate with excellent oral and written communication skills. A highly developed ability with PC's and office computer software is required.

Must be a self-starter and self-motivator, with the ability to perform effectively with minimal supervision.

opaint and coatings systems inspection, selection and repair

opipeline integrity corrosion control issues

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  1. Exposure to heat, cold, and other adverse weather conditions.
  2. Working conditions may include confined spaces.
  3. Repetitively standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching over shoulder height, and climbing ladders up to 25 feet.
  4. Occasionally lifting up to 75 lbs with or without assistance.
  5. Walk up to 2 miles at a time, be able to enter above-ground storage tanks through manways that are 24 inches or larger, and climb stairways on up to 15 above-ground storage tanks (50' tall) in one day.
  6. Drive extensive miles daily.
  7. Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and may require appropriate personal protective equipment.
  8. Reliable attendance at work.
  9. Subject to occasional call-outs to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays.
  10. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
