Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Integrate reservoir engineering with commercial analysis to build robust economic models for new midstream, marketing, and asset opportunities.
- Develop frameworks that clearly break down revenue streams and value drivers for both new and existing projects, enabling engineers, marketers, and leadership to better understand and optimize contract structures and pricing.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams spanning geoscience, reservoir, planning, completions, marketing, midstream, and production to ensure technical and commercial alignment.
- Construct scenario-based financial models to assess risk, identify upside, and support negotiation strategies.
- Communicate complex technical and commercial findings in clear, actionable terms to senior executives and BU teams.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying gaps in current workflows and implementing better tools, models, or processes.
Skills and Experience
- Proven ability to distill complex datasets into clear commercial insights and communicate them to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the initiative and drive to shape and grow the role's impact across the organization.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills; comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated a strong track record of integrating subsurface data into practical economic outcomes.
- High proficiency with economic modeling tools, advanced Excel and data analytics skills required.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, Petroleum Engineering or closely related field
- Master's degree or MBA preferred
Years of Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in reservoir engineering or commercial experience with exposure to unconventional resource plays
Working Environment
- Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. You must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting and standing. In the event there are visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- 10% - 25% - Travel will be required for mandatory meetings, training and visits to field locations
