The Automation Technician will play a hands-on role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated systems and machinery across a high-volume manufacturing environment. This individual will support ongoing production needs while also contributing to long-term improvements in automation efficiency and reliability. Ideal candidates will bring strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to grow their skills under the guidance of experienced engineers. Key Responsibilities: Investigate and resolve mechanical and automation-related issues on production equipment, determining necessary corrective actions and performing component replacements or rebuilds. Conduct in-depth mechanical inspections and repairs, including disassembly and evaluation of complex machine assemblies. Fabricate and install replacement parts, ensuring high quality and precision. Perform welding and sheet metal work as part of equipment refurbishment or custom fabrication. Operate various shop machinery including lathes, mills, drill presses, and surface grinders to support maintenance and repair activities. Support multiple ongoing priorities and projects simultaneously while maintaining a strong attention to detail and quality. Occasionally provide direction and guidance to support staff or assigned helpers during repair or maintenance tasks. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, following all plant safety standards and using required PPE. Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on enhancing automation performance and equipment reliability. Qualifications: Prior experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, or automation technician role is preferred.
