The Process Controls Engineer will report to the Process Engineering Manager and play a key role in managing and optimizing the Process Control Network within a chemical manufacturing facility. This position is essential to ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations through strategic improvements, troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Process Control Network to ensure high performance and reliability.

  • Partner with the Instrumentation Specialist to implement automation and instrumentation improvements.

  • Design and implement control strategies to boost production efficiency and minimize downtime.

  • Collaborate with process engineers, operations, and maintenance teams to resolve control system issues.

  • Maintain accurate and current control system documentation, including P&IDs and operating procedures.

  • Coordinate and manage software updates and control system upgrades with IT and engineering.

  • Monitor process data trends to identify and act on opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead controls and instrumentation aspects of capital projects from planning through execution.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in process controls and automation in a manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on experience with PLC systems—configuration, programming, troubleshooting, and support
