Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design and maintain software and hardware for automation systems, utilizing sound engineering principles. This role involves the design, programming, and troubleshooting of PLCs and HMIs, as well as collaboration with teams to enhance system reliability. Responsibilities
Design, program, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and RSLogix 5000. Support and maintain Siemens automation systems. Develop and maintain SCADA/HMI systems. Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to improve system reliability and uptime. Lead or assist in automation upgrades, retrofits, and integration of new equipment. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all control systems. Document control strategies, wiring diagrams, and system configurations. Essential Skills
Proficiency in electrical engineering and PLC programming. Experience in automation and AutoCAD Electrical. Strong knowledge of power systems, particularly medium voltage. Capability to manage and schedule maintenance personnel and contractors. Ability to interface with drafters or personally draft drawings for projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in setting up and verifying spare parts for new and existing equipment. Skills in writing preventative maintenance instructions. Knowledge of arc flash analysis. Experience in maintaining, upgrading, and archiving manufacturing process software. Work Environment
The role involves working in a dynamic environment that requires collaboration with various teams. The position demands adherence to safety and quality standards, and the use of technologies such as PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems. The Controls Engineer will be involved in projects requiring CAD layouts and must be comfortable interfacing with maintenance and production teams. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
