Key Responsibilities
As a Controls Engineer , you'll work closely with sales teams, customers, and engineering staff to design, develop, and implement custom automation equipment for paint, fluid, and adhesive applications. You will:
Collaborate with customers to develop solutions for custom industrial equipment.
Design and program PLC systems (Allen Bradley LD/ST) for automation and robotics integration.
Create and edit electrical schematics using AutoCAD and SolidWorks Electrical.
Select components, design panel layouts, and work with Servo Motion, VFD, and Stepper Motion systems .
Integrate control systems with Studio 5000 / FactoryTalk (required), and work with Fanuc, Siemens, and Codesys where applicable.
Troubleshoot electrical and control systems (low/high voltage, 3-phase).
Develop HMI screens using PanelView .
Participate in onsite commissioning, installation, and testing of automation systems.
Support both mechanical and software controls during equipment installation.
Required Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field.
3+ years of experience troubleshooting electrical systems.
Strong background in PLC programming (Allen Bradley Ladder Logic & Structured Text).
Proficient in Studio 5000 / FactoryTalk .
Ability to read, create, and modify electrical schematics using AutoCAD .
Knowledge of industrial network infrastructures (Ethernet, DeviceNet).
Experience with Servo Motion, VFDs, and Stepper systems.
Proficiency in HMI development (PanelView).
Willingness to travel up to 25% for customer site work.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Fanuc robotics integration.
SolidWorks Electrical knowledge.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Hands-on panel building and mechanical assembly experience.
