What you’ll do: Our Controls and Integration Engineers play a pivotal role in delivering customized food processing and packaging solutions for all types of food manufacturers across the country. In this position you will be interfacing directly with sales, engineering, development and our customers, travelling to their facilities across the United States, and troubleshooting electrical and control systems. You will work on developing new equipment and applications with our Canton-based development and engineering teams. The person in this role will drive innovation and system integration and play a crucial part of working with high-speed bakery production lines. They will primarily be working with Allen Bradley and helping migrate standard offerings based on a Sigmatek processor then to Allen Bradley specifically for bakery. Job Duties may include but are not limited to: Essential Functions Work closely with Reiser Engineering, Service, and our customers to understand and troubleshoot systems. Work with the Reiser Development team on R&D projects and develop solutions within a team-based environment. Understand how to electrically integrate our equipment into our customer’s manufacturing lines including power requirements, digital signal handshakes, Ethernet interconnects, and PLC programming. Generate required documentation including manuals, and procedures on new projects. Train our technicians and customers in the proper use, maintenance, and repair of the electrical and controls systems of our equipment. Learn and understand how our supplier’s equipment control systems work. This person must have the ability to work remotely and communicate with our customers’ machines via VPN and installed communication devices. Core Competencies Creative Problem Solver – Able to think quickly and adapt when faced with unexpected challenges in the field Strong Understanding of Network Topology – Able to design, interpret, and troubleshoot industrial networks Service-Minded Approach – Com – Comfortable with frequent travel, customer-facing environments, and remote troubleshooting Experienced Road Warrior – Comfortable with frequent travel, customer-facing environments, and remote troubleshooting Deep Understanding of Field Service Realities – Resides within a service mindset; prioritizes uptime, reliability, and user-centric solutions Technical Control Skills PLC Configuration & Integration – Upload, download, and configure programs to/from Allen-Bradley PLCs Ladder Logic Proficiency – Read, interpret, and modify ladder logic to enhance or troubleshoot machine performance Custom PLC Programming – Tailor and adapt PLC code to meet specific customer or application requirements Industrial Network Integration – Seamlessly connect production line equipment into existing plant-level architectures Ethernet/IP Troubleshooting – Diagnose and resolve issues within existing Ethernet/IP network environments Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of electrical controls and integration experience. A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience Knowledge of processing equipment. Experience troubleshooting PLC’s (Allen Bradley Preferred), motor controllers, servo controllers, safety devices. Programming required. Proficient experience interpreting and understanding US and European electrical schematics with AutoCAD and Draftsight. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people via reports, emails and verbal communication. Strong curiosity and desire to learn new things. Previous experience with an equipment manufacturer - food industry experience is highly desirable.
