Continuous Improvement Engineer (The Giorgi Companies, Blandon, PA): Reviewing production schedules, engineering specifications, and process flows to understand existing automated production processes already in place in order to develop and implement continuous improvement; Designing, developing, and testing automated machinery and processes to develop and generate improvements to a fleet of large volume producing, highly complex, production line of machine tools for process automation purposes; Designing control systems for, and conducting routine inspections and testing of, automated machinery, ensuring maximum thru-put, quality, and minimum waste; Researching new technologies to support existing automated production processes and to generate new automated production processes that can perform and complete projects in a timely and effective fashion; Designing, planning, and directing equipment layout in order to increase productivity and reduce waste through the production process; Working cross functionally to help establish key performance indicators and monitor production processes in order to consistently identify production issues, quality issues, as well as present solutions that contribute to improved customer satisfaction and a reduction in complaints; Leading, instructing, and training facility staff to rely on key performance indicators and root cause analysis to establish projects and their priorities; Use six sigma and lean manufacturing techniques to drive continuous improvement activities. Must have experience with the following in order to complete the above-mentioned tasks: Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma experience; Experience with data collection (KPIs & Downtime) and analysis; Experience with equipment layouts/development (AutoCad & CadCam); Experience with continuous improvement techniques: fishbone analysis, Pareto charts, root cause analysis, 5 WHYS, Six Sigma charters and projects. Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field, and at least one year of experience as an Industrial Engineer, Process Engineer or related occupation.
