General Description:
The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for utilizing continuous improvement and industrial engineering tools to analyze processes and layouts, in order to identify waste, and drive improvements in efficiency, productivity, and quality. Reports to:
Director Of Continuous Improvement Responsibilities: ·        Utilize CAD to design layouts that optimize efficiency and flow. ·        Complete time studies and line balancing to improve production processes. ·        Calculate metrics and drive daily sustainment of the Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) process. ·        Identify opportunities for improvement in design and production, and work with Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to implement. ·        Complete root cause/corrective action process (5-Why, Fishbone, A3) to permanently solve production problems. ·        Design continuous improvement tools and templates (primarily utilizing Excel and Tableau) to improve data collection and reporting. ·        Assist with the rollout of 5S in key production areas. Train the team on CI tools and processes as required. Minimum Educational Qualifications (If Applicable): ·        Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering degree preferred Minimum Previous Experience (If Applicable): 1-2 years of lean/industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment Minimum Additional Training (If Applicable): ·        Lean/Six Sigma green belt (or equivalent) preferred
Other Skills: ·        Experience with Microsoft Office suite required, proficiency with Excel required ·        Good written and verbal communication skills required ·        Experience with CAD – AutoCAD / Solidworks or equivalent required Demonstrated ability to manage projects and implement process improvements
