Working Conditions
- Job requires potential exposure to moderately adverse and undesirable environmental conditions.
Required Skills:
- Administer construction contracts for assigned projects.
- Familiarity with the standard specifications for road and other transportation construction in Missouri and their applications.
- Interprets construction plans, specifications and special provisions and makes corrections as required.
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and orally with clients, residents, government officials and contractors to meet the needs of projects.
- Ability to resolve construction problems and prepare responses to contractor claims.
- Prepare or oversee preparation of project documentation, reports, payment estimates, change orders, and final plans.
- Willing to travel and stay out of town a week at a time if required for project needs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to handle large projects and work independently on job sites.
Job Location:
Kansas City, Missouri, United States
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university curriculum.
- Successful completion of the Engineer-in-Training exam.
- Six years of experience in highway or transportation engineering.
- MoDOT Technician Certification is a plus or must be willing to obtain certification.
- OSHA 10-Hour Certification required within 90 days.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri not required but encouraged.
Salary: $79,000.000 - $135,000.00
