JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
The Computer Scientist IV - Data Engineer will create, implement, and manage data pipelines for ingesting flight test data from multiple sources to a common cloud environment.
What You Will Do With JT4
The Computer Scientist IV - Data Engineer will create, implement, and manage data pipelines for ingesting flight test data from multiple sources to a common cloud environment. Collaborate with Data Scientists and engineering teams, automate key processes, and work with the Combined Test Force data processing team to improve data organization and query efficiency.
JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Use Python, Matlab, SQL, C#, PostgreSQL, HTML, and AWS databases to design and implement data architectures for flight test data in a cloud environment that defines appropriate databases, data warehouses, and data lakes
Collaborate with data platform developers to optimize cloud-based data systems for performance by tuning databases, appropriately tagging data, improving query efficiency, quality, and integrity
Collaborate with other teams, Data Scientists, and engineers to understand their data needs and provide the necessary infrastructure, tools, data organization & management
Develop automation to streamline repetitive tasks and workflows that improve query efficiency
Design data architectures to assist with the ingestion and processing of flight test data and implement appropriate data structures in the cloud environment
Perform other job-related duties, as required
Additional Strengths
Knowledge of machine learning/artificial intelligence methods beyond the use of Large Language Models (LMM)
Own the entire data lifecycle, from ingestion and architecture design to quality assurance and performance optimization

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
One of the following educational requirements must be met for this position:
A bachelor's degree in an associated discipline and a minimum of eight years of related experience
A master's degree in an associated discipline and a minimum of six years of experience
A PhD in an associated discipline and a minimum of four years of experience
Additional requirements -
Extensive knowledge of systems engineering and software development lifecycles
Effective oral and written communication skills
Good planning/organizational skills
Candidate must possess a valid, state issued driver's license
Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance
Must be a U.S. citizen
SALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $127,587 to $179,920 annually.

JT4, LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required. Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
