Watts is a leading brand with a quality reputation — and we have a dynamic future ahead.​ As the Commercial WQ Systems Engineer, you will support the Water Quality Commercial team by providing technical guidance, training, equipment quotes and expertise throughout the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. Being a technical advisor and product advocate, you will engage with industry groups, sales representatives, and customers to promote Water Quality solutions for pre and post sales support. Working closely with dealers, sales representatives, engineers, and others within the Watts network, you will help determine the best system. Your role will involve both in-field support and collaboration with internal teams, offering an excellent opportunity to influence the specification and application of cutting-edge products and services.
You Will: Support bid and specification work by assisting Water Quality dealers, and sales representatives, ensuring accurate and timely submissions. Develop new business opportunities by building and managing a robust pipeline of potential clients and projects, aligning with the company’s growth strategy and targets. Cultivate and maintain customer relationships, establishing long-term connections with both existing and potential customers to ensure a high level of satisfaction and repeat business. Provide onsite training for customers, helping them fully understand and utilize Watts Water Quality products. Troubleshoot and resolve field system issues to ensure customer satisfaction. Drive sales and contribute to achieving goals, focusing on top-line revenue, margin improvement, and market share growth. Prepare and present sales proposals, share pipeline status updates, and communicate sales strategy, data, and progress clearly and professionally to internal teams and management. Regularly communicate with your manager and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on sales strategies, customer needs, and project timelines. Provide technical expertise, specification guidance, and applications support to sales representatives, ensuring they understand and communicate the value proposition of products and services. Assist Marketing teams in developing collateral and refining value propositions based on customer feedback and market insights. Represent the company at industry events, professional societies, and seminars, delivering general industry-related presentations and supporting customer factory visits as needed. Provide product and industry topic presentations as required for lunch and learns along with in the field with expected 10-20% travel. Contribute to special inter-company projects and develop knowledge of all company products.
You Have: Bachelor’s Degree required; a degree in Engineering is preferred. 3+ years of experience in the commercial water quality or HVAC/Plumbing industry. Customer service and/or sales experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to apply commercial HVAC and plumbing equipment in complex systems. Public presentation skills, with comfort speaking to varied audiences. In-depth knowledge of commercial water quality and/or HVAC and plumbing systems, with a track record of optimizing complete mechanical and plumbing system designs. A solid technical background and/or aptitude. Ability to travel up to 20% to support manufacturing representatives, seminars, and industry events.
The expected salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 annually, plus quarterly commission based on meeting sales targets. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.
Physical Requirements : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment : The position is remote and requires a stable work from home office and internet. Travel will be to both office and manufacturing environments.
