As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Data Engineer to join our IT team. This role focuses on building and maintaining robust data pipelines, integrating Salesforce and other business systems, and ensuring high data quality, performance, and scalability within our cloud data platform.
As part of the broader data and technology strategy team, you will collaborate regularly with architects, the delivery team, internal stakeholders, and other IT team members to implement our evolving data roadmap and cloud infrastructure.
Position Summary:
Pipeline Development & Optimization
Design, build, and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines, especially from Salesforce (Sales/Service/Marketing Clouds) and other enterprise sources.
Implement structured and scalable ingestion strategies, including batch, streaming, and Change Data Capture (CDC).
Architecture Collaboration
Collaborate with the fractional Data Architect to implement cloud-native solutions aligned with enterprise architecture (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
Translate strategic roadmap and architectural plans into operational pipeline solutions.
Data Modeling & Transformation
Develop robust data transformation models using DBT and/or SQL/Python aligned with defined metrics, KPIs, and business logic.
Support implementation of structured storage and segmentation strategies that align with business needs.
Data Governance & Quality
Enforce and implement data governance, standards, and metadata management defined by the data architecture team.
Build and support validation, reconciliation, and lineage tracking processes.
Security & Compliance
Apply security protocols, access controls, and privacy guidelines as outlined in regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR).
Collaboration & Documentation
Partner with architects, developers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business objectives.
Document pipeline logic, data sources, models, and processes clearly for handoff and continuity.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in design reviews and team retrospectives.
Stay current on tools and best practices related to cloud data engineering, especially within the Azure and Salesforce ecosystems.
Other Responsibilities

Requirements:
Qualifications
3+ years as a Data Engineer or similar role with a strong emphasis on Salesforce data integration.
Expertise in Snowflake or similar cloud warehouse solutions.
Strong SQL and Python skills; DBT experience preferred.
Familiarity with orchestration tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory).
Strong understanding of ELT design, dimensional modeling, and cloud-native data architecture.
Comfortable working within a cross-functional environment, including fractional consultants and internal technical leads.
Commitment to data integrity, scalability, and secure data handling.
Computer Skills
Quick learning ability for new database programs, proficient navigation of communication, such as basic knowledge of Salesforce, and proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Teams, and SharePoint.
