Position Overview
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our growing team in Charlotte. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who enjoys solving complex structural challenges, leading projects, and making a direct impact on property owners and communities.
As a Structural PE, you'll conduct forensic investigations, structural assessments, and design work while serving as a trusted advisor to clients. You'll enjoy a dynamic blend of fieldwork and technical reporting, with the autonomy to manage your own projects and contribute to high-level decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Lead forensic structural evaluations of residential and commercial buildings.
Prepare detailed technical reports and repair/construction design documents.
Oversee structural design for new construction and renovations.
Provide on-site technical guidance and construction administration.
Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
Travel to inspection sites across the region (approx. 50% fieldwork).
Perform physical inspections in crawl spaces, attics, basements, and rooftops.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Structural focus preferred).
Professional Engineer (PE) license(required).
Minimum5 years of structural engineering experience.
Strong technical writing and reporting skills.
Excellent interpersonal and client communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
Preferred Experience
Structural forensics, residential and commercial design.
Civil site design, land development, erosion control, stormwater management.
Familiarity with structural analysis software and CAD tools.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
