Education/Experience/Licensure: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university ( required ) – structural engineering emphasis (highly preferred) EIT (highly preferred) – or ability to obtain EIT within one year of employment ( required ) Previous design experience related to modifications in nuclear (DOE or commercial) plants (preferred) Experience working with multiple operating nuclear clients and vendors (preferred) Ability to obtain unescorted access at an operating or construction nuclear plant ( required ) Basic knowledge of civil design codes (AISC, ASTM, ACI) Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite). Additional software skills including Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Vault, Risa, ANSYS (preferred)

Responsibilities: Participate in the development of deliverables for nuclear projects within the Civil discipline Report to an assigned Project Engineer and act as a Design Engineer for Civil projects Be responsible for working with other engineers and designers to prepare design change packages for modifications at operating nuclear plants and other associated nuclear facilities Be proficient in preparation of engineering change packages (EC’s) Conduct field walkdowns to determine existing configuration of plant structures, systems, and components Follow a strict adherence to civil codes and standards

Successful candidates will: Possess the ability to interpret codes and, regulations, and standard practices Be able to demonstrate adaptability; must be proficient in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues within a nuclear power plant environment Have effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing) Possess excellent communication skills and ability to interface with customers and internal team members under a matrixed organization A strong background in commercial nuclear design and developing engineering competencies is required.
