We are currently seeking a transportation design engineer for a full-time position in our Fairview Heights, IL office. Our company offers a locally competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package. : The transportation engineer will perform civil engineering design services in a team-oriented environment. Project emphasis is transportation engineering design for both public and private sectors which range in scope from small to multimillion-dollar designs. Services are provided to a wide range of clients that include state DOTs and other governmental agencies - municipal, county and state. Duties & Responsibilities: The following duties are typical for this position: Daily production of civil engineering design plans Work as part of a team to deliver quality design that adheres to the project budget and schedule Responsible and accountable for client/customer satisfaction and technical project execution Performs other job duties as assigned Knowledge/Qualifications, Skills & Abilities: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university required 4+ years of hands-on plan preparation experience for public agency roadway projects PE license required Proficiency in Microstation as well as a related transportation design package (OpenRoads Designer, Geopak) although candidates with an AutoCAD/Civil3D background will also be considered Working knowledge of DOT/AASHTO Standards DOT project experience is preferred (MoDOT is a plus) Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other general office software Physical Qualifications: Ability to sit at desk for extended periods of time. Ability to type and/or use a computer for extended periods of time. Sufficient visual ability to focus attention on extended use of electronic documents and software.
