Duration: Work is estimated to last 3 to 6 months but may go longer. . Responsibilities: Design civil infrastructure supporting deep underground Small Modular Reactor’s: access shafts, surface support structures, earth retention, drainage systems. Conduct geotechnical assessments and design drainage and water control around shafts. Coordinate structural design with mechanical and electrical components. Ensure civil designs meet seismic, safety, and environmental requirements. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (geotechnical or structural focus preferred). 5+ years with underground construction or nuclear facility civil design. Knowledgeable in geotechnical engineering, structural design (AISC/AASHTO), and drainage. Experience with DOE, NRC, or analogous regulatory frameworks. Preferred Qualifications: Licensed Professional Engineer Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
