Position Overview The Chief Engineer will steer cross‑functional teams of software, hardware, and infrastructure engineers to deliver high‑performance, mission‑critical products for the telecommunications and secure communications markets. Drawing on a proven track record in software design, product development, and customer‑facing support, the candidate will ensure that solutions meet rigorous technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities AreaResponsibilities Strategy & Roadmap Help define the long‑term product vision and strategy for company product offerings. Translate market and customer needs into actionable product roadmaps. Team Leadership Build, mentor, and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams (software, hardware, infrastructure). Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and high quality. Product Lifecycle Oversee all phases of product development: concept, design, prototyping, validation, and production. Implement robust configuration management and release processes. Technical Excellence Ensure architectures and designs align with industry standards and best practices. Guide the use of best-in-class technology solutions to deliver high quality products. Customer & Market Engagement Act as technical liaison with key customers and partners, supporting sales and field teams. Gather and incorporate customer feedback into product enhancements. Innovation & R&D Champion new technologies and innovative use of existing technologies. Maintain awareness of emerging trends and competitors.
Required Experience CategoryExperience Industry Background Minimum 10 years in embedded systems, telecommunications, or related fields, with demonstrable product‑development success in both software and hardware domains. Leadership 5 + years managing engineering teams, including software, hardware, and infrastructure engineers. Technical Expertise Deep knowledge of embedded and general-purpose development. Proven experience with telecommunications protocols, RF, and electronics design. Project Management Track record of delivering complex, multi‑disciplinary projects on schedule and within budget. Customer‑Facing Roles History of providing technical design and support to customers. Safety & Compliance Experience developing carrier-grade systems, or those required to adhere to strict uptime requirements.
