Georgia-Pacific is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chemical Process Safety Engineer to join our Brewton Containerboard facility. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive process safety programs and management systems. Your efforts will ensure compliance with OSHA 1910.119, EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP), and Georgia-Pacifics Chemical Process Safety standards. Our culture is defined by the Principle Based Management philosophy which guides everyday decision making and provides employees with opportunities to contribute and personally benefit from the value they create./ppDevelop your technical and leadership capabilities through the management of risk assessment strategies and opportunities for risk reductio/ppParticipate in Risk Assessments (PHAs, Project Design Reviews, Design Operation and Maintenance, Prevention through Design)/ppDevelop and update process safety guidelines and risk assessment tools/ppDevelop expertise with the Chemical Reactivity Hazard Management electronic tool/ppLead by influence through participating and facilitating group discussions, knowledge sharing, and presentations/ppFoster process safety ownership within the organization through leadership, coordination, and coaching in keeping with risk-based process safety and Principal Based Management/ppAssist SH leadership with the development of short and long-term process safety objectives, targets, strategies, and measures that prioritize and mitigate risks/ppProvide analysis of process safety incidents and near misses to assure sustainable corrective actions are implemented and detailed technical direction to improve process safety performance/ppReview and provide metrics to monitor process safety compliance/ppEvaluate training systems for effectiveness and making recommendations for improvement/ppCoordinate the engineering review capability for process hazard analyses (PHA), management of change (MOC), and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR)/ppProvide oversight for the mills process safety information including PIDs, PFDs, chemical compatibility matrix, etc/ppProvide chemical process safety support and expertise to the mills Emergency Response Team (ERT)/ppServe as a mentor for technical and hourly employees to make process safety an everyday mission for continuous improvement in daily operations/ppPosition will participate in on-call rotation as needed (in general, once every 8 week period, and may include one holiday per year)/ppAt Koch, employees are empowered to do what they do best to make life better.
