Quality Electrical Systems (QES) is a leading electrical equipment manufacturer based in West Jordan, UT. With 350,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space and 75,000 sq. ft. of inventory, we specialize in custom electrical solutions for industries like data centers, oil & gas, water/wastewater, and mining. We’ve partnered with global OEMs including GE/ABB, Yaskawa, Danfoss, and TMEIC, and have been delivering innovative electrical products for over 30 years.

Position Summary: We’re looking for a Certified Electrical Design Engineer (PE) with experience in medium/high voltage systems, power distribution, and custom switchgear. You’ll lead the design, development, and installation of electrical systems and ensure they meet the highest standards for safety, performance, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and test electrical equipment and systems

Produce schematics using design software

Oversee installations and support troubleshooting

Perform engineering calculations and ensure code compliance (UL, NEC, IEEE)

Collaborate with technicians and programmers on system enhancements

Research and analyze trends for product innovation

Required Qualifications:

Active PE Stamp (Professional Engineer certification)

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or higher)

6+ years of experience in electrical engineering (preferably with medium/high voltage)

Proficient in:

Electrical schematics

Allen-Bradley PLCs

Medium Voltage Switchgear

Power equipment: VFDs, soft-starters, breakers, fuses, vacuum contactors

Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
