The Workforce Productivity Services (WPS) team is seeking an experienced Cellular Operations & 5G Implementation Engineer with a strong background in project delivery, strategic planning, and operational optimization. This role is central to supporting our global cellular operations while also delivering both public & private 5G solutions to enhance business productivity. What You'll Be Doing:

The Cellular Operations & 5G Implementation Engineer role will be responsible for helping design, deploy, and manage 5G cellular solutions across Lilly. In this position, you will play a critical role in leading Lilly cellular projects with a focus on optimizing user experience, improving operational efficiency, and advancing the global integration of cutting-edge cellular technologies. You will also collaborate with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) operations team & carrier partners to ensure a reliable cellular service is provided to our end users.

As an ideal candidate, you should have a strong technical background in cellular technology and network administration. The ability to collaborate, prioritize, and hit deadlines effectively across teams is a must, as you will work closely with Cybersecurity, Manufacturing & Quality (M&Q), Lilly Research Labs (LRL), and the Mergers & Acquisitions team. This position plays a key part in the company's growth strategy by supporting a "5G By Design" approach and providing opportunities to gain experience in private cellular deployment.

How You'll Succeed:

  • Lead implementation of both public & private 5G carrier solutions across Lilly sites
  • Provide consultation for business partner 5G use cases being driven out of groups such as M&Q and LRL
  • Define private 5G architecture needs in collaboration with Enterprise Connectivity (Network Services) and Cybersecurity
  • Manage day-to-day interactions with cellular providers and contribute to ongoing supplier governance. Provide critical expertise into service direction
  • Collaborate with Managed Service Provider to monitor, maintain, and optimize cellular line operations
  • Find and implement ways to streamline global processes by removing redundancy and automating outcomes where possible
  • Leverage data trends & industry best practices to influence strategic direction of Lilly cellular offerings

What You Should Bring:

  • Technical understanding of the benefit of 5G technology, ideally with practical experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of enterprise network fundamentals; experience integrating Private Wireless Networking (PWN) with traditional networks is a plus
  • Experience in successfully coordinating External Service Provider (ESP) engagements
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing and supporting global solution portfolios, with a proven record of delivering high-quality, user-centric solutions on schedule
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills (both verbal and written), including ability to articulate technical solutions to non-technical personnel
  • Understanding of API scripting for automation use cases
  • Proven ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action
  • Experience in resolving complex issues in product and operational support; supporting 24x7 critical operations like manufacturing is a plus

Your Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
  • Or
  • High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years of experience as an IT professional
  • 3+ years experience in large enterprise cellular management
