We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Building Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This role involves performing a wide range of skilled tasks to maintain, operate, troubleshoot and repair building systems and manufacturing line equipment. A strong understanding of HVAC systems is essential. Providing 24-hour operational support for the Webster site on a Dupont 12-hour rotating schedule. This is a union position - International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE Local 158S)
Location: Webster, NY 14580Type of Employment: Full-time w/JLL + IUOE Local 158S benefitsSchedule: On-site, 12-hour Dupont rotating schedule - alternating between 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM shifts (day shift) and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM shifts (night shift). To support work-life balance, the schedule includes a 7-day off period. There are also 4 hours of overtime built into each pay period. Compensation: $35.89 an hour + shift premium of $1.50 per hour is paid for night shifts. What this job involves: At JLL, we're seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Engineer to provide essential 24-hour operational support for our Webster site on a Dupont 12-hour rotating schedule. This role offers the unique benefit of 7 consecutive days off every 28-day cycle. You'll be the frontline responder to system issues, executing chamber changes, troubleshooting building systems, and ensuring smooth operations across the facility. What your day-to-day will look like: Respond to calls from the JLL Helpline, customers, and management teams, providing comprehensive site support
Execute customer-requested Chamber Changes according to established procedures
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot critical building systems including emergency generators, UPS systems, electrical systems up to 480v, chillers, and more
Respond effectively to emergencies with a focus on operational stabilization and appropriate escalation
Maintain thorough knowledge of equipment operation including building automation systems and fire/life safety systems
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and relevant state/local ordinances and codes
Utilize technical systems including Microsoft Office Suite and Corrigo work order management system
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours building activities as needed
Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in building operations or relevant field
Strong understanding of HVAC systems operation
Experience with Building Automation Systems (Alerton preferred)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
IUOE Local 158S union membership or willingness to obtain membership
Strong aptitude and positive attitude for learning new technical skills
Preferred Qualifications: Trade school certification or formalized vocational training
Technical licenses relevant to building operations
Experience with electrical systems up to 480v
Knowledge of DDC/pneumatics systems
Familiarity with RO/DI water systems
Proven track record of excellent customer service
Experience with emergency response in a manufacturing environment
