Job Title – Boundary Protection Engineer Level – Subject Matter Expert (SME) Location – Hurlburt Field, FL : X Technologies is seeking a Boundary Protection Engineer to support the 39th Information Operations Squadron (39 IOS) from Hurlburt Field, FL. What You'll Be Doing: You will design, configure, install, maintain, and monitor boundary systems including, but not limited to: Firewalls, Gateways, Proxy Servers, Switches, Routers, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS). You will configure, install, and maintain technical security controls and measures including, but not limited to: STIGs, AAA, VPN, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM), and Security Patches. You will perform technical management including, but not limited to: Business/Mission Analysis, System Requirements Definitions, System Design/Architecture, Defense in Depth, Zero Trust, Domain Separation, and Disaster Recovery. You will design, configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain switches and switching technologies including, but not limited to: Access Ports, Trunk Ports, VLAN, Native VLAN, Private VLAN, Multicast, STP, MAC, CAM, and CEF. You will design, configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain routers and routing technologies including, but not limited to: Static and Dynamic Routing, Multicast, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS, and BGP. You will design, configure, install, troubleshoot, maintain, and monitor Firewalls including, but not limited to: configuring rules, configuring access control lists, and configuring zones, security policies, and NAT. You will ensure all systems are properly logging events to include but not limited to: the design, configure, install, maintenance of Security Incident and Event Monitor (SIEM) systems and perform real-time monitoring of events and alerts using a SIEM system. You will perform system audits, vulnerability scans, handle incidents, and threat assessments on all networks including, but not limited to: System Analysis/Forensics and Anomaly Detection. You will perform incident response activities and conduct investigations of information security breaches to identify vulnerabilities and evaluate the damage including, but not limited to: Provide Intelligence, Provide Reports and Malware Reverse Engineering. You will conduct investigations on computer-based crimes establishing documentary or physical evidence, such as digital media and logs associated with cyber intrusion incidents. You will train staff on, oversee the use of information security standards, policies, and best practices as well as stay up to date on emerging technologies, exploits, vulnerabilities, and hacker techniques and provide briefings and reports to leadership. What Required Qualifications You'll Bring: Master's Degree 8 years of cyber and/or information technology duties and experience or Approved Equivalent Experience. Understanding of firewall, boundary protection, and network security concepts and methodologies at the professional level equivalent but not limited to: Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE); System Administration, Audit, Network and Security (SANS) Intrusion Detection In-Depth, SANS Advanced Network Forensics, Cisco Certified Network Professional and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). IAT/M Level III Certification Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS occasionally. Must have a current passport or be able to acquire within the first 60 days of employment Clearance - Top Secret/SCI
