Overview And Essential Job Functions The BI Engineer / Data Modeling Focus owns the backbone of Acumen's Business Intelligence environment. They are responsible for wrangling complex datasets, optimizing pipelines, and building scalable Power BI data models that power decision-making across the company. Design, build, and optimize star schema models and Power BI datasets Develop and maintain ETL pipelines from source systems (e.g., DCI) Ensure data quality, refresh reliability, and performance Collaborate with engineers and analysts to ensure semantic consistency Support automation engineer with data sourcing and event-driven triggers Other duties as assigned ALL Acumen employees will be vigilant to support the positive compliant cybersecurity company posture by familiarizing themselves with all policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines and act accordingly. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 4+ years in data engineering, Power BI, or analytics engineering roles 2+ years of experience with Power BI Premium or Microsoft Fabric Hands-on experience using Fabric Data Pipelines, Custom Notebooks or Azure Functions, and Lakehouse or Warehouse components Deep experience in SQL, Power BI dataflows, and data modeling best practices Passion for data integrity and building usable systems Knowledge of healthcare or self-direction data a plus Experience working with Power BI Premium or large semantic models PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's in information systems, Data Engineering, or related field preferred Experience using Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures) or Snowflake as a data source Acumen, LLC is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
