Backend Software Engineer Location : Onsite (Palo Alto, CA) Position Type : FTE Level : Mid-Level Compensation : $150,000 - $180,000 Job ID : #155746 About the Role We’re looking for a skilled Backend Software Engineer with a strong foundation in cloud infrastructure and backend systems to join our team building AI-powered customer engagement solutions.
You’ll be instrumental in developing scalable, secure, and production-grade systems that bring real-time AI capabilities to life. Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services supporting AI-driven customer experiences. Develop secure, efficient CI/CD pipelines for rapid deployment of AI features and models. Implement and fine-tune containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Collaborate closely with AI engineers to deploy, serve, and monitor LLMs and generative models in production. Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of customer-facing systems. Drive automation and optimization across development, staging, and production environments. Contribute to infrastructure design decisions, including Terraform modules and cloud architecture. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in backend software development, focusing on cloud infrastructure and DevOps. Deep hands-on experience with GCP services (GKE, IAM, Cloud Build, Cloud Run, etc.). Proficiency in Python (primary) and Go (secondary) for backend systems and scripting. Strong production experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Familiarity with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code best practices. Knowledge of secure deployment practices and IAM design principles. Experience integrating or serving LLMs or GenAI models in cloud environments is a strong plus. Thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments—ideally startup settings. Preferred Experience (Nice to Have) Experience deploying open-source LLM frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, vLLM, or Ollama. Exposure to observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, or GCP Monitoring. Familiarity with API gateway configuration, rate limiting, and security at the edge layer.
