Job Description: The AWS Cloud Platform Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, automating, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions within AWS. This role requires strong leadership skills, hands-on engineering expertise, and experience in automation, DevOps, containerization, and system reliability. The engineer will work closely with development teams, architects, and operations to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient cloud environments aligned with business objectives. Requirement/Must Have: Minimum of 1 AWS certification is required. Minimum of 10 years of overall IT experience. At least 5 years of hands-on experience in AWS Cloud Platform engineering and administration. 3–5 years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role. Hands-on experience with AWS services including VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, ELBs, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, EKS, and others. Proficiency with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation. Experience writing Lambda functions, preferably in Python (Boto3). Familiarity with Ansible playbooks and Linux Bash scripting. Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and Amazon EKS. Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. Prior experience in automation of provisioning, deployment, and patching. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills. Knowledge of AI tools like Amazon Kendra, Bedrock, and RAG models is a plus. Understanding of cloud security, networking, and performance optimization. Experience with enterprise cloud transformation and application migration strategies. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Experience: Minimum of 10 years in IT including software development and systems engineering. At least 5 years in AWS Cloud automation and administration. 3–5 years of experience implementing SRE principles. 3+ years of experience with DevOps toolchains including Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with full software development lifecycle leveraging Python. Hands-on background in Linux system administration. Responsibilities: Install, tune, upgrade, troubleshoot, and maintain all computer systems relevant to supported applications. Develop and implement preventative measures for system stability and troubleshoot incidents. Evaluate new systems through in-depth testing and end-user reviews. Research and recommend software and related products. Develop system automation and business process integration. Improve engineering knowledge through continuous learning and professional engagement. Act as a mentor for junior and senior team members. Design and integrate cloud platform resources in AWS. Collaborate with development, architecture, and operations teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions. Automate end-to-end cloud infrastructure processes using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Python. Provide consultation on infrastructure planning and engineering. Engage in platform monitoring, observability, and performance optimization using tools such as Data Dog, Jaeger, or New Relic. Lead cloud-native application designs and architecture using containers, service mesh, and microservices. Migrate legacy systems to modern, scalable cloud-native environments. Maintain platform reliability, availability, and performance across systems. Troubleshoot issues, resolve outages, and continuously improve automation and deployment processes. Communicate architectural plans, decisions, and trade-offs effectively to stakeholders. Should Have: Cloud and DevOps certifications. Exposure to artificial intelligence patterns and AWS AI tools. FinOps certification is a plus. Skills: Proficiency in Python, Java, Groovy, or Go. Experience with Ansible, Terraform, AWS CDK, and CloudFormation. Familiarity with Docker and OCI-compliant containers. Knowledge of Kubernetes, EKS, and ECS. Experience with service mesh technologies like Istio or AWS App Mesh. Familiarity with container security tools such as Twistlock or Aqua. Hands-on with DevOps tools including Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, and Artifactory. Understanding of cloud-native architectures, Linux, shell scripting, and networking. Experience with storage and security configurations in AWS. Strong collaboration and cross-team communication skills. Qualification And Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree is preferred. In lieu of a degree, an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered.
