1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants This position acts as a technical consultant to the sales and project management team to produce functional system descriptions, A/V system diagrams and equipment lists to enable generation of customer proposals for design/build projects. The systems engineer is also responsible for reviewing consultant bids and producing submittal packages for consultant driven projects. Employee will be required to visit client sites and construction sites and will be responsible for following any safety requirements of client or GC. Occasional travel by car will be required. Employee is required to hold a valid driver’s license in their state of residence. If employee uses their own vehicle they will be reimbursed at the current corporate rate. Responsibilities Translate customer requirements into functional system designs Develop the Bill of Materials (BOM) and associated documents Develop engineering and architectural drawings Review pre-construction design and documentation including reconciliation of construction drawing packages and support documentation for installation and coordination with architect, GC, and other trades Attend discovery and pre-construction meetings with clients when required Generate functional system scope of work and system drawings Identify all cabling, custom and miscellaneous materials Provide engineering support for project management and installation teams when required Meet with vendors to help evaluate products Qualifications Formal education in electronics or related field preferred Proficient with HD video test and calibration equipment Certifications or training with at least one DSP platform (Q-Sys, Symetrix, Biamp, etc.) Certifications or training with at least one control system (Q-Sys, Crestron, Extron, etc.) Proficient with AutoCAD LT or equivalent Strong knowledge of network protocols Specialized computer skills for the design, configuration, and operation of AV equipment Familiarity with theatrical rigging a plus Ability to meet deadlines Communicate and interact with internal employees, clients, and colleagues in a professional and timely manner A minimum of 10 years in the AV industry and 5 years of design experience is preferred Employee will be required to visit client sites and construction sites and will be responsible for following any safety requirements of client or GC.
