As an Audio Software Development Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our scientific investigations and contribute to the creation of innovative products that facilitate meaningful connections. In this role, you will work closely with research scientists and engineers to implement state-of-the-art audio solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, integrate, optimize, and debug real-time audio software for augmented and virtual reality applications. Create tools, platforms, and documentation that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our research efforts. Build a collaborative community of researchers and developers through the sharing of software engineering best practices. Engage in teamwork across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines, making informed architectural trade-offs to deliver software solutions swiftly. Write clean, readable code, debug complex issues, and prioritize project needs efficiently. Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 3+ years of hands-on experience in C/C++ for developing audio software systems. 2+ years of experience integrating audio features on hardware devices. Proficient in navigating a self-directed work environment with various stakeholders and teams. Experience shipping multiple products across large code bases on diverse platforms and tools. Preferred Qualifications: Extensive knowledge of audio fundamentals, processing pipelines, and Digital Signal Processing concepts. Previous experience in the AR/VR domain. Interest or experience in Audio Machine Learning, including tools like Python and PyTorch. Familiarity with prototyping platforms such as Max/MSP, MATLAB, or Audioweaver. Demonstrated success in driving and executing research initiatives. Compensation: $56.25/hour to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits.
