Our Air Dominance software engineers design, develop, and demonstrate avionics solutions for the platforms we build and upgrade. Your efforts will assist integration of innovative technologies to maintain our platform's dominance over the battlefield for many decades to come. Additionally, our software engineers support the Flight Simulation products associated to our platforms. Our engineers are involved in all aspects of these programs (software requirements, design, code, and test) and our agile development approach allows new hires like yourself to quickly become very impactful and make a difference to our success!
Position Responsibilities: Supports the design, development, test, and maintenance of non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards.
Assists with review, analysis and translation of customer requirements into initial design of software products.
Supports development, maintenance, enhancement and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations.
Supports development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products.
Supports debugging and resolution of issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products.
Participates in handling user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues and user feedback analysis.
Supports implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development.
Supports development, establishment, monitoring and improvement of software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks.
Supports execution and documentation of software research and development project. Assists with performing software project management activities and software supplier management functions.
Supports tracking and evaluation of software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards.
Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): Experience with any of the following software development languages: Ada, C, C++, C#, JAVA, and Python
Experience working on a project where various software development methodologies are being utilized
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience developing embedded real-time software
Experience developing models and simulation
Experience developing Operational Flight Program (OFP) software for an aircraft platform
Experience working with Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS)
Experience with object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) methodologies
Experience with Agile software development
Experience with open architecture constructs like Open Mission Systems (OMS), Open Communication Standard (OCS); utilizing the Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI)
Experience developing and documenting software architecture using Cameo, or similar Model Based Systems Engineering tools
Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as (or similar to) Git, JIRA, Collaborator, Beyond Compare and Version One
