Hourly Rate: $45/hr

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Project Manager – Packaging Engineering to support the full lifecycle of packaging projects at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Millsboro, DE . This role involves leading initiatives related to new packaging development, problem-solving, process improvements, and validation efforts, with a focus on aligning with site and global packaging strategies.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player, experienced in packaging operations within pharmaceutical or medical device environments, and capable of managing projects that interface with R&D, engineering, supplier management, and manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Execute and manage packaging projects through development, validation, and implementation phases.

Serve as a subject matter expert in packaging on site-level and capital expenditure (capex) initiatives.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Global Engineering, Supplier Management, and Manufacturing.

Apply scientific/technical knowledge to resolve packaging issues and identify improvement opportunities.

Lead or support standardization efforts and implement packaging strategy at the site level.

Analyze cost/benefit, risk, and impact to inform business decisions.

Support the integration of customer needs and feedback into packaging solutions.

Present project updates and technical information effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment and contribute to skill development within the organization.

Champion change management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Packaging Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry , or related technical discipline.

Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of combined experience in packaging and/or pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing.

At least 1+ year of experience specifically in packaging project support or project management.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment .

Familiarity with primary and secondary packaging , as well as packaging equipment .

Demonstrated project management and complex problem-solving capabilities.

Ability to assess business risks and perform gap analysis.

Effective communicator, both written and verbal.

Strong teamwork skills with flexibility in dynamic team settings.
