Job Title: Applications Engineer
Location: Remote
Contract Rate: $55-65hr Position Overview: The Applications Engineer provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support across a wide range of IT systems including hardware, software, networking, server infrastructure, and A/V or broadcast environments. This role is responsible for managing enterprise platforms such as Active Directory, Azure/Entra ID, Exchange, and SharePoint, as well as endpoint management tools like Intune and JAMF. Responsibilities also include account administration, live event support, network and server troubleshooting, patch deployment, documentation, and coordination with Tier 1 and Tier 2 staff. Key Responsibilities: Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for end-users, focusing on advanced troubleshooting across hardware, software, network, and A/V systems. Administer and troubleshoot systems such as Active Directory, Azure/Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, and print servers, particularly in relation to account management and policies. Manage and support endpoints using Microsoft Intune, Auto Pilot, and JAMF Pro. Deploy and install patches, service packs, and bug fixes across end-user machines and servers using a patch management tool. Troubleshoot issues related to Windows Servers, printer management, and financial systems. Perform advanced network diagnostics involving switches, wireless access points, and port configurations. Provide on-site support for live events and ensure continuity of technical operations. Maintain accurate records in a ticketing management system. Collaborate with Tier 1 and Tier 2 support staff to resolve technical issues and recommend long-term solutions. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and knowledge base documentation. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in desktop support, systems engineering, or a similar technical support role. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure Certified Associate or Microsoft 365 Certified Associate. Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Windows Server, Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Intune, and JAMF. Solid understanding of operating systems (Windows and macOS), software, networking, and peripheral equipment. Experience troubleshooting and supporting complex IT environments both remotely and on-site. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
