Summary
TMMI is seeking a hands-on, technically skilled Application Engineer to support our customers and sales team across the Western region. The ideal candidate is passionate about automation technology and is comfortable supporting industrial controls, motion, sensing, and connectivity solutions. This role includes product demonstrations, project scoping, technical documentation, customer training and office or onsite customer support.
Key Responsibilities Provide technical pre- and post-sales support for customer applications Assist sales team in identifying, scoping, and quoting automation solutions Conduct product demonstrations, site visits, and workshops for customers Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and vendors Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges involving hardware and software Generate application-specific documentation, diagrams, and proposals Track customer engagement and opportunity support activities in Salesforce Collaborate with internal and vendor teams to stay current on training and product updates Support marketing efforts through technical input and content creation for online videos and website blog posts Engage in teaching and creating product training Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field; or equivalent experience 2-5 years in an Application Engineer or related technical support role Familiarity with motion systems, robotics, sensors, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and industrial networking Comfortable working with customers in person and over video/phone Strong problem-solving and communication skills Willingness to travel within the Western region (~25%) Preferred Skills and Tools Familiarity with Kollmorgen Motion Control, SICK, Turck Solutions, and Emerson PAC Systems Motor sizing calculations and Cobot or Robot control Salesforce or similar CRM for tracking technical engagement Proficiency in creating, reading, and interpreting technical drawings using CAD software (e.g., Solid Edge, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar).
