Play an important role in building multimodal foundation models and vision technologies that empower Apple products. We're looking for senior machine learning engineer managers with strong technical expertise and team management experience. Strong technical background and hands-on experience in machine learning, computer vision, and foundation models

5+ years managing large teams of ML engineers, successfully driving team missions, execution, and growth

5+ years of experience in managing complex projects and shipping products

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to propose research plans to advance multimodal foundation models and vision technologies, provide technical mentorship, and drive execution. Collaboration across broader teams at Apple will also be a key aspect of your role.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD, MS, or equivalent experience

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Deep understanding of ML-based product lifecycle

Hands-on experience in machine learning, computer vision, and foundation models

Experience in data mining and data curation

Proficiency in one of the following languages: Python, Go, Java, C++

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading or collaborating across multiple product areas

Passion for product and user experience

Experience delivering large-scale products or platforms through cross-functional partnerships

Strong systems engineering experience and understanding of ML and software interdependencies

Track record of delivering innovation

Ability to develop and execute long-term visions while managing technical details
