Overview Aerospace Systems Safety Engineer (Associate and Mid-Level) – Everett, WA The Boeing Company is seeking Systems Engineers to join the Airplane Safety Engineering (ASE) team to contribute to airplane safety analyses and certification activities for programs such as the 777-9, 777-8 Freighter, and future programs. The role emphasizes safety analyses, compliance, and collaboration with multi-discipline teams to ensure product integrity. Responsibilities Analyze the integration of complex airplane systems and their airplane‑level effects, failure indications, and flight crew actions as part of a system of systems analysis Document safety analyses, hazard mitigation, validation, and verification activities in compliance with relevant customer and regulatory safety standards Support the definition and validation of safety, mission success, and airworthiness; help incorporate these elements into designs, operations, and procedures Participate in tests, analyses, inspections, audits, and simulations to verify that systems meet defined safety and mission assurance requirements Assist with creating and maintaining aerospace safety and mission assurance tools and processes Basic Qualifications (Required) Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science 1+ years of experience in aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, airplane systems engineering and integration, airplane safety, or commercial airplane certification 1+ years of engineering experience on at least one airplane model (e.g., 737, 737 Max, 747, 767, 777, 777X, 787) Experience with safety analysis methods such as FHA, FMEA, or SSAs Preferred Qualifications (Desired) Mid-Level: 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent education/experience Experience developing and applying aerospace system safety analysis methods (e.g., CCA, CEA, FTA) Applied experience in commercial airplane systems design or analysis (e.g., Flight Controls, Hydraulics, Avionics, Propulsion) Knowledge of Engine Indication and Crew Alerting System (EICAS) Experience with 14 CFR 25.1309 and ARP 4761/4754 Experience developing requirements for aerospace systems and hardware Knowledge of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) methods for engineering tools FAA pilot certificate/ratings or equivalent aviation experience Other Information Union: This is a union-represented position Drug Free Workplace: Post-offer applicants and employees are subject to testing as outlined in company policies Pay & Benefits: Includes a Total Rewards package with base pay, variable compensation, and eligible benefits; relocation may be available based on eligibility Educational Requirement: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Export Control: Must meet export control requirements; a U.S. Person is required Security Clearance: Not required Visa Sponsorship: Employer will not sponsor employment visa status Shift: 1st shift (USA)
