Our satellite customers benefit from ground station services with no infrastructure commitments, usage-based pricing, and a global network of ground stations in close proximity to AWS Regions, enabling millisecond access to AWS services post-data downlink from their satellite.

The selected candidate will need to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI level with polygraph. Upon starting, the selected candidate will be sponsored for the necessary clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Key Responsibilities:
This software development engineer role requires extensive knowledge in design and development, experience with agile methodologies, proficiency in a high-level programming language, and expertise in building scalable distributed systems with persistent storage. You will lead the design of major deliverables and have opportunities to build from the ground up in a high-visibility, fast-paced environment, directly impacting customer experience and company success.
A Day in the Life:

By fully utilizing AWS technologies, you'll contribute to a new cloud ecosystem committed to low operational overhead. You will prioritize tasks to support product development, resolve challenges, and focus on impactful actions that drive program success. Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship experience in design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and system scaling.
Proficient in at least one software programming language.
Bachelor's degree or CSSLP certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
2+ years of professional software engineering experience in Rust.
Current, active US Government Security Clearance at Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.

Salary Information: The base salary range for this position is as follows:
USA, CO, Denver: 143,700.00 - 194,400.00 USD annually
USA, VA, Herndon: 143,700.00 - 194,400.00 USD annually
Compensation packages may include sign-on bonuses and restricted stock units (RSUs), determined by experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also provides comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
