REQUIRES AN ACTIVE/EXISTING TS/SCI WITH CI POLYGRAPH OR WILLINGNESS TO OBTAIN A POLYGRAPH NO REMOTE WORK Windows SQL Server Database Engineer IV Position description: Seeking a Windows SQL Server Database Engineer IV candidate to support an Intelligence Community customer in the Washington D.C., Maryland (Riverdale), and Virginia (Herndon) . The candidate will be responsible for: • Perform database administration activities required to install and maintain database management software, design and implement predictive analysis. • Install, configure, provision, operate, and administer database management systems and related software and backend storage server and hardware platforms. • Design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance tune production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. • Provide support to the development and implementation of database policies and procedures to ensure databases' integrity and availability, including software updates. • Communicate regularly with the development team, business, and operations teams to ensure the security and confidentiality of data. • Responsible for the availability, reliability, and integrity of business data stored in production databases. • Full-time work in SCIF is required, but hours are flexible. Telework and/or hybrid is not available. Qualifications: BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5 Required Qualifications: • Active TS and the ability to obtain or eligibility for TS/SCI clearance adjudication, and ability to pass a poly • Must have a relevant technical bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.) or 8 years of relative experience, additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree • A minimum 8 years of experience as SQL Server DBA • Active Security+ certification (DoD 8570 baseline certification for IAT Level 2) • Experience with Amazon Web Service (AWS) Cloud experience or VMWare • Experience with database STIG compliance remediation and ongoing system scanning and monitoring requirements • Experience with troubleshooting and resolving database performance issues • Independently able to upgrade major database instances • Experience with and independently able to employ multiple database backup strategies Desired Qualifications: • Experience writing SQL and T-SQL queries to generate system data reports, modify data as necessary, etc. • Experience in database design and development • Experience with Unix, Linux and/or Windows operating systems • Familiar with Agile practices • Advanced experience in database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and high availability strategies for SQL Server 2017 or higher • Experience architecting, designing, developing, and managing databases using relational databases such as SQL Server • Advanced knowledge of SQL Server backup and recovery strategies • Advanced knowledge of SQL Server High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server • Ability to design, develop, and document technical solutions, standard operating procedures, and change requests. • Ability to administer Linux/Windows server-based operating systems and CLI w/ scripting. • Ability to design & develop solutions with SSIS, SSRS & Power BI. • Experience with capacity planning, utilization, and performance monitoring (Index, Table, Queries, and Stored procedures).
