SUMMARY OF POSITION: We are looking for a Welding Engineer to be responsible for managing welding projects and working with the welding team. The responsibilities of a Welding Engineer include providing consulting services, coordinating multiple projects, and overseeing the welding procedures. The incumbent will also provide support to the Chief Product Engineer to ensure a professionally and efficiently run department and to support the Chief Product Engineer in this capacity on various AAR Committees and Industry Task Groups. Primary responsibilities and/or essential functions include, but not limited to: Leading welding projects Analyzing engineering designs for welding requirements Reviewing welding procedures, processes, and documentation Managing welding procedure qualifications and generating welding procedures to help the manufacturing and welding teams Investigate welding related issues to improve product performance and increase productivity Troubleshoot welding problems and provide corrective solutions Conducting failure analysis and cause analysis on welding issues Overseeing production and ensuring that products conform to FRA standards, market specifications and safety regulations CANDIDATE SKILLS Customer service skills Advanced analytical and design skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of industry and market trends Good project management skills EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in welding engineering or related field, from an accredited college or university. 1 or more years experience in Welding Engineering in manufacturing environment Experience with Lean Six Sigma Regulated industry experience required (FRA, AAR, DOT) experience strongly preferred. Previous experience in a national heavy industrial manufacturing business preferred. Experience building relationships with customers, vendors, and departments Experience with factory support and improving sustaining operations.
