Water/Wastewater Engineer Mid-Level

Salary Range: $90,000 $160,000 annually (based on experience and licensure)

You'll work on high-impact projects involving the treatment, conveyance, and storage of wastewater, recycled water, and potable waterhelping communities thrive through innovative engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze water and wastewater treatment systems
• Perform hydraulic modeling and system calculations (WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS preferred)
• Prepare construction documents including plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• Write technical reports and integrate input from multidisciplinary teams
• Navigate environmental permitting processes (SDWA, NPDES, Title 22)
• Conduct field studies, pilot testing, and site analysis
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams
• Provide construction administration and support site visits
• Engage with clients and potentially mentor junior engineers and CAD staff

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
• 515 years of relevant experience in water/wastewater infrastructure
• Valid PE license (California preferred; out-of-state acceptable if CA licensure is attainable)
• Familiarity with AutoCAD (Civil 3D is a plus)
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks including SDWA, NPDES, and Title 22
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams

Desired Skills

• Experience mentoring junior staff or managing small teams
• Familiarity with InfoWater, BioWin, and wellhead treatment systems
• Business development or proposal writing experience
• Hands-on experience with sustainable design practices and certifications

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90,000.00 - $160,000.00/yr.
