Senior Civil Engineer – Water & Wastewater (Municipal Focus)
Full-Time | Southeast Region | In-Office
Our client, a reputable civil engineering firm with deep regional roots and a strong track record of municipal partnerships, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead water and wastewater infrastructure projects from concept through construction. This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role with project ownership, business development responsibilities, and the ability to shape the future of municipal water solutions in the Southeast.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Design, lead, and manage municipal water and wastewater projects, including treatment plants, distribution systems, collection systems, and linear pipelines.
Client Development: Market to municipal clients and help cultivate long-term partnerships; support strategic business development alongside leadership and marketing teams.
Engineering Design: Provide technical design services and calculations for water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring code compliance and constructability.
Document Preparation: Oversee and contribute to the creation of master plans, construction documents, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
Permitting & Coordination: Collaborate with permitting agencies, utility providers, and key stakeholders to drive projects toward approval and implementation.
Multidisciplinary Teaming: Work closely with planners, surveyors, landscape architects, and other engineers to deliver integrated, cross-functional solutions.
Quality Assurance: Develop Basis of Design Reports and project specifications to meet regulatory and client standards.
Project Communication: Prepare and present updates to clients and stakeholders, maintain continuous communication with all parties to ensure alignment and progress.
Proposal Development: Assist in crafting Statements of Qualifications, proposals, and scope documentation in collaboration with project managers and business development staff.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
Professional Engineer (PE) license in GA or SC, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
Proven track record of successful municipal project delivery in the water/wastewater space
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High-level public speaking and client presentation skills
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities
Strong moral character, self-motivation, and a collaborative mindset
