To do so, you will apply a variety of different tools and 1D, 2D and 3D methods. . You will make decisions based on simplified low fidelity approaches if possible or run a 3D CFD or multi-disciplinary optimization to find solutions for complex design tasks, or anything in between. You will be part of a global team and closely collaborate with colleagues from adjacent disciplines heat transfer, mechanical integrity and manufacturing to develop a design that is a balanced compromise between project requirements for performance, lifetime and costs. How You’ll Make an Impact Design and analysis of flowpath and airfoils of axial turbines using 1D, 2D and 3D approaches. Turbine component design: 3D flow analysis and aerodynamic optimization of airfoils. Engage in inter-disciplinary teams for multi-disciplinary analysis and optimization of turbine components. Development and implementation of aerodynamic design tools and methods Assessment and evaluation of test and field measurements Lead of external and internal research and development programs including management of outsourcing specific tasks. Ability to drive a team through tough technical challenges. Support of manufacturing and component development What You Bring University degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or similar. Several years of experience in turbine aerodynamic design and analysis, with a strong background in thermodynamics or fluid mechanics. Significant design/analysis experience with components for turbo-machinery applications or similar applications. Advanced knowledge of computational methods, numerical and optimization methods and coding experience with python to automize your workflows and process your data. Experience with CAD tools (NX), aeromechanics or conjugated heat transfer simulations is a bonus, but not a must.
