CareVet is looking for traveling Veterinarians to practice throughout the state of Missouri. CareVet’s Traveling DVM program is designed for experienced veterinarians who want flexibility without sacrificing clinical quality, earning potential, or support. Think of it like a travel nursing — but for DVMs, built around how you actually want to live. Full and part‑time options are available!
The Schedule
- 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off — averaging 20 hours per week
- 3 weeks on / 1 week off — perfect for those who prefer longer rotations
Both options are available — we’ll build the schedule around you!
Compensation & Coverage
- $135/hr | Part‑time, no benefits
- $100/hr | With full benefits package
- $2,500 annual CE stipend + paid CE time

Where You’ll Practice
Our traveling DVMs rotate across high‑performing, community‑rooted hospitals located throughout Missouri—from vibrant cities to welcoming small towns. You’ll experience a variety of practice styles, client bases, and caseloads, all while being supported by a consistent and connected CareVet network. New locations are added regularly as our footprint continues to grow.

Responsibilities
- Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
- Treat and dress wounds
- Perform surgery on animals
- Test for and vaccinate against diseases
- Operate medical equipment, such as x‑ray machines
- Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
- Prescribe medication
- Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
- Licensure in the state(s) where candidate will be working
- Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
- Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
- Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
- Strong fondness and understanding of animals
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of animal behavior
- Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
