Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, a 100% employee-owned engineering firm, is seeking a Transportation Structural Project Engineer II to join our growing team in Hunt Valley, MD. This is a fantastic opportunity for a licensed Structural or Bridge Engineer with 10+ years of transportation design experience to step into a project leadership role, managing high-impact bridge and structural infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of new and rehabilitation bridge projects using AASHTO LRFD design standards.
- Manage project scope, schedules, and budgets to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Prepare contract bid documents and oversee construction phase services.
- Collaborate with subconsultants, clients, and internal teams to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and drafting personnel to develop design excellence.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) and other clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Maryland.
- 1015 years of experience in structural engineering, specifically with bridge design.
- In-depth knowledge of steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete structural systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and design software.
- Experience working on MDOT transportation projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
