Transportation Engineer Location: Tampa or Greater Orlando, FL Our client is currently seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer to join their team in either the Tampa or greater Orlando area. This role offers the opportunity to support a wide range of transportation projects for state, county, and city agencies—spanning local roadways to arterial and highway systems. Responsibilities include the preparation of construction plans, 3D model development, engineering reports, intersection and interchange studies, and specifications. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator, capable of collaborating with clients and representatives from federal, state, and local agencies. Key Responsibilities: Design roadway systems and develop 3D models
Prepare detailed maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans
Review and perform design computations, plans, and quantity estimates
Use CAD and design software to produce high-quality engineering documents
Coordinate with utility companies, regulatory agencies, and sub-consultants
Collaborate with a team of engineers and designers to execute projects
(Preferred) Manage project schedules and budgets as needed
Participate in client meetings both onsite and offsite
Ensure quality through adherence to internal QA/QC standards
Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
5–10 years of transportation engineering experience, preferably with FDOT projects
Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
Proficient in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer
Excellent communication and technical writing skills
