Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities POWER Engineers is currently seeking an Experienced Transmission Line Engineer in our Rocky Mountain Region. The candidate has the option of office-based work in our Denver, CO office or remote work from any mutually acceptable location. This position has a flexible work schedule.
Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, supporting, and coordinating the following: POWER CultureDepartment alignment with POWER's Culture CodesContribute to the growth of POWER’s Culture through strong leadership characteristicsEncourage growth, engagement, and accountabilityMaintain a healthy relationship with colleagues and foster areas of improvement where needed Project SupportLead and/or support the engineering of 69kV to 765kV overhead transmission lines across the United States and internationallyLead and/or support the initial project execution layout to ensure an efficient and effective project plan has been establishedWork with engineers, drafters, and designers on small to medium-sized engineering projects and interface directly with the clientResponsible for contributing to the creation and maintenance of a project schedule and budgetParticipate in weekly or bi-weekly project meetings to clearly outline upcoming deliverables and tasks with the responsible personnel identifiedCoordinate with clients on project status and support project meetings as necessaryMaintain project workflow and thorough communication across multi-disciplinary projects, both internal and external to POWERForecast upcoming project requirements to assist in resource planningFacilitate and adhere to POWER's QA/QC procedure to ensure that the correct personnel are performing the required QA/QC reviewParticipate in industry conferences, both internal and external, to improve professional growth while fostering knowledge transfer to colleaguesDevelop Transmission Line design knowledge pertaining to PLS-CADD, structure staking, foundations, assembly drawings, steel pole performance loading, material procurement, construction specification, and construction support Project Manager SupportMaintain project status reportsProvide weekly or bi-weekly project updates and project forecastingLead and/or support PM by meeting with clients, both in-person and remotelyDevelop client relationships, allowing POWER the opportunity to position ourselves to win future work Required Education/Experience
Fundamentals of Engineering licensure Bachelor of Science in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel. Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite Preferred Education/Experience
Professional Engineering (PE) Licensure Electric utility industry experience Experience managing projects and leading multi-disciplined teams Transmission and distribution line design experience At least 5 years of experience using PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, and FAD Tools software packages Transmission line routing Transmission foundation design Transmission structure load and design Cost estimating and scheduling POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is a global consulting environmental and engineering firm and one of the top design firms in the energy sector. Salary DOE: $100,000-$140,000 annual base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
