A multi-discipline engineering firm with over 70 years in business is looking for a Traffic Engineer for their Huntington, New York office!

Responsibilities:

Prepare traffic impact/parking studies including the review of site plans for traffic safety issues and parking facilities for local zoning conformance

Coordinate/perform the planning, analysis, design, and permitting tasks for traffic/transportation engineering, land development, and master planning projects

Analyze signals, signing, and pavement markings

Deliver tasks/projects on time within guidelines and schedules

Complete progress reports as needed

Draft/prepare traffic impact reports

Manage relationships, both internal and external

Travel to field/client visits in NY metro area

Work independently and prepare expert reports summarizing findings, using accepted engineering principles, prepare for EBT’s, and hearing/trial testimony

Requirements:

B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering

5+ years of traffic engineering experience (road, intersection, and overall infrastructure design

PE License in New York

Auto CAD knowledge

Strong knowledge of NYSDOT Highway Design Manual

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Synchro, MUTCD, ITE Traffic Engineering Handbook, ITE Parking Generation, ITE Trip Generation, and AASHTO

Ability to read/comprehend roadway plans and contracts

Traffic signal design experience preferred

Nassau-Suffolk County experience preferred

Salary is commensurate with experience.
