We currently are looking for Systems Integration Engineer that has experiences in Batteries or Hydrogen Fuel Cells. This will be more focused within mechanical design and integration.
The role will involve integration of vehicle sub-systems into full vehicle packages, such as fuel cell power systems including both fuel cell stacks and balance of plant, electrified vehicle auxiliary systems. Working closely with the Chief Engineer to learn, understand and perform project tasks. Perform a variety of engineering tasks by applying engineering theory and principles. Capable of carrying out said theories in a practical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Vehicle experience - CDL nice to have.
The successful candidate will support vehicle integration activities, related to electric and fuel cell powered vehicles, through all phases of the vehicle development processes. Integration will involve mechanical and electrical interfaces on a variety of applications, immediately on commercial vehicles but in future to include automotive, marine, aerospace and industrial.
As Such the candidate will be involved at all steps of the system design process: Requirements capture and management, product definition, system and sub-system design and development, supplier identification, sourcing and management, build and commission prototypes & test and verification.
Work closely with Design and Analysis teams to deliver a systems architecture to meet attribute targets for system and vehicle level requirements.
Prepares and/or coordinates analytical design calculations, analytical techniques, simulations and testing; evaluates results, and analyses and interprets data obtained.
DFM/DFA - experience working with manufacturing to develop processes.
Liaises with project team members of various departments, internal management, and directly with suppliers, test houses and clients.
Presents results and recommendations to project team and customers.
Understands and works within project financial targets, time schedules and manages and prioritises all tasks required. Communicates issues to Project Manager and Chief Engineer as they arise and assists in developing responses to those issues.
Key competencies and experience Qualify for CDL training.
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline (System, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, etc).
Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
Knowledge of BEV and FCEV architecture.
Knowledge of heavy duty commercial vehicles and buses a plus.
Experience with a CAD system to view, manoeuvre, cut sections, measure dimensions, etc. is a plus.
Knowledge of BOM management.
Knowledge of engineering design software (such as CATIA, CV, AutoCAD, or Pro E) as well as data acquisition software.
Knowledge of systems requirements and software.
Knowledge of GD&T and checking 2D manufacturing drgs for release to suppliers.
Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
Knowledge of engineering documentation, FMEA, DVP&R, etc.
Some experience of problem solving, (sign off vehicles, commissioning) analytical and experience of fault-finding techniques used in the Automotive industry a plus.
Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles.
Initiative and interpersonal skills are essential, as are strong communication and presentation skills.
